I’ve gotten into the habit of using short titles for posts on here. There’s no deep reason to it, it’s just that I started doing it naturally and then, when I noticed the trend, just carried on.
It might be related to my penchant for minimalist design, of course. That’s become a bit of a trend in electronic design overall of late, first with Windows 8, then the latest revisions to the Android design language, and then iOS 7. Minimalism as a response to skeumorphism.
Not all my titles are single-word affairs, of course. The stuff in the Writing category (which I’m hoping to update soon) tends towards longer titles, when they have them. And the last essay I wrote was titled “Autocorrect as an Icon of Expanding Human Rights and the New Era of Communism.” Oh David Foster Wallace, your writing style is so fun to imitate.
